Beth Forrester

Beth uses a lot of different materials, including metal, clay, plaster, found objects, wax and paper, primarily in drawing, sculpture and collage. She works spontaneously, mostly led by the materials she has to hand, and her own internal landscape whilst working. Her work is very subjective, and she often makes use of dream imagery, and personal symbols. The work is not planned – she is interested in, and aims for, an unconscious uncensored approach. “This way I often surprise myself, which I like. My work has become more about the process than the finished piece, and my hope for the work is that it communicates.”
