Gary Long's process and practice is one of developing connections and relations.  Inspired by abstract and expressive post-war artists including Chaim Soutine, Elmer Bischoff and Richard Diebenkorn.  Gary's paintings are built from observation, intuition and memory.

As Diebenkorn has said: "All paintings start out of mood, out of a relationship with things or people, out of a complete visual impression."
